The Early Head Start Program is a federally funded program that provides comprehensive services to families who are pregnant or have children birth to age 3 and meet eligibility guidelines in Taunton and Raynham.  Service areas include child development, health/nutrition, social services and parent involvement.

Since a parent is the most important person in a child’s life, it is essential that EHS staff and parents work together to individualize goals that promote healthy development through relationships between parents and children.  Staff and parents form partnerships to understand each family’s unique differences, personal values, and cultural expectations.

Services are provided either in a Home-Based option or in collaboration with Family Child Care providers.  Families in the Home-Based option receive weekly visits and opportunities to attend parent/child playgroups and parent support groups, as well as occasional field trips and family events.  Families in the Family Child Care option, who are working or in school, receive support through monthly meetings with our Parent/Child Advocates who also visit the Child Care Provider to assist in providing quality, comprehensive care for children.
