The Early Intervention Program provides services to children (and their families) from birth to 3 years of age who have, or are at risk for, a delay in their development in Berkley, Dighton, Lakeville, Middleboro, Raynham, Rehoboth, Seekonk, and Taunton. These delays may be in one or more of the following areas: motor, speech and language, cognition, social emotional, self-help skills, vision, and hearing. The delay may also be related to medical and environmental risk factors.
Early Intervention services focus on the family unit, recognizing the crucial influence of the child’s daily environment on his or her growth and development. Therefore, early intervention staff deliver services in the context of family daily routines, working in partnership with individuals present in the child’s natural environment. Early Intervention staff support and encourage the families’ use of and access to community-based resources that will continue to support and enhance the child’s development.
